A Portfolio Competition II, October-December 2010
The Texas Photographic Society is hosting it's second
Photographic Portfolio Competition. Enter now for a chance to have
your work selected for an exhibition online. Each month, TPS will
feature two portfolios, one by an emerging photographer and one by a
mid-career photographer. This competition is open to TPS members
only.
For this competition, you will be competing for one of six solo exhibitions that will be online in October, November or December 2010. After your month-long featured exhibition, your gallery will be archived and available for viewing for the period of 11 months. In addition, the six featured photographers will be published in a book that will be available for purchase through Blurb.com. Each portfolio should include no more than 20 images.
TPS defines an "Emerging Photographer" as a person who has not been featured in a
solo gallery exhibition. We define a "Mid-Career Photographer" as a
person who may have had a
solo gallery exhibition, and is not represented by a commercial
gallery. This competition will be offered four times each year.

About the Juror
Juror's Statement
The presentation of work as a portfolio gives an artist the opportunity to express an idea through a sequence of photographs, allowing the individual images to connect and reinforce one another. When I review portfolios, I look for a strong conceptual base and I always respond to honesty and originality.
