The AfterImage Gallery in Dallas had their 40th Anniversary Show: 40 Exceptional Photographs which included work by TPS members: Paul Greenberg [Dallas], Elliott McDowell [Santa Fe, NM], and Angela Bacon-Kidwell [Wichita Falls].
Nan Dickson's [Temple]: Cold Storage was recently at the McCreary Gallery, Cultural Activities Center in Temple.
Lydia Panas [Kutztown, PA] had fourteen of her images from the series Falling from Grace exhibited as part of Reality Check during the Athens Photo Festival in Athens, Greece. Lydia also participated in The Airport Show, a group show in the Central Atrium, at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Santa Barbara, CA.
Jenny Sampson's [Berkeley, CA] Skaters was at Photobooth in, CA.
Barbara Riley's [Corpus Christi] Rediscovering the 17th Century Still Life was seen in the Department of Art, Texas Tech University's SRO Gallery in Lubbock. Barbara also has a one person show Bittersweet was
at the Southwest School of Art's Ursuline Hall Gallery in San Antonio.
Susan Burnstein's [Los Angeles, CA] Within Shadows, was recently at the John Cleary Gallery in Houston.
Loli Kantor [Fort Worth] And If A Voice Was Heard was at the B. Hollyman Gallery in Austin.
Carol Hayman [Austin] was one of ten winners of the billboard contest sponsored by Austin
Art Boards. The winning billboards will be shown around Austin for a year.
A solo exhibit by Tom Chambers [Richmond, VA] Improbable Dreams was recently at the Chase Young Gallery in Boston, MA. Tom also exhibited with Christa Bowden, Susan Kae Grant, Jessica Hines, Christopher Rauschenberg, Maggie Taylor and Jerry Uelsmann as a part of PHOTOJAX 2011, the first annual Jacksonville photography celebration. His photo Prom Gown #3 was used to advertise the festival. Photo-Eye Editions is selling a portfolio box Dreaming in Reverse / Sonando Hacia Atras. The portfolio of twelve pigment ink prints is

Stephen E. Strom's [Sonita, AZ] Earth and Mars was at the Temple Gallery in Tucson, AZ.
Herb Smith [Wimberley] won Best in Show for Sculpture by Cypress in the 7th Annual Naturescapes photography contest and exhibition at the San Marcos Activity Center. The juror was Amanda Smith [Johnson City], owner and director of ASmith Gallery in Johnson City. His photograph Spirit Trees was selected for Art Hop 2011, juried by Geoffrey M.B. Hammond, sponsored by Georgetown Art Works. Creekhaven Inn, Wimberley has a selection of his work permanently on display.
Christopher James [Dublin, NH]
has been given the green light to begin the third edition of his book, The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes. This edition will be in the 850 page category with about 500 images. Christopher also announces a Master of Fine Arts in Photography, The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University.
The program offers a new, 60-credit, two-year, residential, graduate program in photography, in four traditional semesters, leading to a Master of Fine Arts degree, which is the terminal degree in studio arts. Relation to AIB’s mission: AIB is a professional college of art within Lesley University and is dedicated to professional preparation through intensive studio practice combined with critical theory, art history, and professional practice. As such, this new MFA fits easily within AIB’s overall mission, especially in its emphasis on preparing future photographic
George Gati [Poughquaq, NY] has been accepted into several shows recently:
The Nature of Trees, Vermont Photography Workplace, Middlebury, VT; num6ers, A Smith Gallery, Johnson City, Texas; and the 2011 Holiday Open, Firehouse Square Gallery, New London, CT.
Larry E. Fink [Abilene] recently launched a site dedicated to street photography. Larry has been street shooting for many years and last summer (2010) attended two workshops with Peter Turnley in Paris and New York. In the spring of 2011, he taught a course on the history and practice of the genre at Hardin-Simmons University.
John Bernhard's [Houston] show Blue Marble - Environmental Destruction Through the Eyes of Children at Rice universities Farsnworth Pavilion. John created still life portraits of children overlaid into endangered landscapes of the earth.
